This formula contains 38% protein and as little as 16% low-glycemic carbohydrates, providing the nutrients necessary for healthy growth and development for dogs of all breeds and life stages. This formula surpasses other dog foods on the market in that two-thirds of the meat (including the ten main meat ingredients) is preservative-free, fresh or frozen raw. The remaining one-third is fresh meat, poultry, or fish that has been dehydrated at 90°C to provide the concentrated protein that fresh meat alone cannot provide. The nutrient-rich WholePrey™ fresh meat, offal, and cartilage in their optimal ratio, along with zinc, provide dogs with all the nutrients they need naturally. The addition of freeze-dried liver adds a delicious flavor that will delight even the pickiest of eaters.

Rich in meat and protein, this formula is made with 85% high-quality meat and contains 40% protein, which is Biologically Appropriate™ for dogs and more closely matches their original dietary protein intake.

Enriched Animal Fats Animal fats are important for your dog's healthy development, so this formula uses only naturally occurring, unrefined fats from fresh poultry, fish, and eggs.

Fresh fish (e.g., Arctic char, herring, and rainbow trout) are excellent sources of DHA and EPA, which are particularly important for the immune and nervous systems. DHA and EPA cannot be extracted from plant sources such as flax, coconut, or sunflower.

Low glycemic index dogs' original diet contains only a small amount of carbohydrates, so the formula only uses low glycemic index fruits and vegetables such as pumpkin and butternut squash, and does not contain high glycemic index ingredients such as potato and tapioca starch. The carbohydrate content is more than half that of other dog foods on the market.
