How to use

  1. Measuring Your Pet's Meals

Measure the amount of dry food your pet needs and add to the bowl.

Refer to the "Daily Feeding Guide" on the package for how much you should feed your pet.

  1. Add water

Add an equal amount of warm water to the amount of dry food in the bowl. (Example: for 1 cup of dry food, add 1 cup of water).

You can choose to feed your pet with or without water – whichever works best for your pet. If you choose not to add water, that's perfectly fine too. The food is designed to be nutritious and delicious regardless.

  1. Wait and serve

After adding water, let the food sit for about 30 seconds to allow it to reconstitute. The food will begin to expand, absorbing the water. When most of the water is absorbed*, let your pet enjoy its meal.

*NOTE: The texture of the food remains intact and appears moist rather than mushy. Reconstitution time may vary depending on season and climate.

How to Transition to Raw Pet Food

If your pet has been eating dry food and/or processed wet food, it's important to gradually transition to a raw diet as a complete and balanced meal. *Raw foods are digested differently than processed foods. Transitioning to a raw diet too quickly may cause stomach upset.

Likewise, if your pet is used to dry or canned food, they may be fussy about raw food at first, so gradually introducing raw food will help their taste buds adjust.

Start with 20% Frontier Pets Raw Freeze Dried Food and 80% your pet's "regular" food. Feed at a 20/80 ratio for 2-4 days, then if there are no major issues, adjust to 40/60 for another 2-4 days.

Increase the proportion of Frontier Pets by 20% every 2-4 days until you are feeding 100% Frontier Pets food as a complete and balanced meal.

This guide follows only general veterinary recommendations for transitioning to a raw diet. However, every pet is unique and their transition speed may be different. If you have any questions, please contact us or consult your veterinarian or animal health professional.

*Frontier Pets Raw Freeze-Dried Pet Food can be used as a complete and balanced meal with a 100% raw diet, or as a topping to add raw nutrients to their regular meal. See our feeding guide for details.
